About this Plan

Me-109F. Sport scale model for radio control. Discontinued kit from Pica. Wing area 202 sq in, for .10 engines. Scale is 1/12. The kit is labelled as 'Laser lock' snap-it-together.

Quote: "Thank you! You have just purchased what we believe to be one of the best, most highly developed laser cut sport scale kits in the world. The model is designed, just as the full-size aircraft, to provide stable and maneouverable flying qualities that will be enjoyed by all modellers..."

Dear Team of Outerzone, attached to this email I send you plan and instructions for the PICA Me109, 1:12 Combat Scale. It's now probably 20 years ago that I built and flew this kit. The plane was fast and predictable, no bad habits at all. I lost it to the tree at the lower end of our flying field while coming on for a low full-bore sweep. The construction proved to be rather rugged, alas not very scale, so I didn't repair it. The kit used a vac-formed fuse top. Also not all the wing ribs are shown, though enough to design the missing parts yourself, should need be. Best Regards and thx for Outerzone.
Hubert

Note: there is a review of this kit online at: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?397251-The-Pica-ME-109 - although the model reviewed is fitted with a Speed 400 electric motor, not a .10 engine.

    ScaleType: This (oz9138) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.

    If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.

    Notes:
    ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Bf_109
    Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
    For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.
    Corrections? Use the correction form to tell us the new/better ScaleType link we should be using. Thanks.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
