Chipmunk (1/2A Chipmunk). Stand off scale model by Fred Reese.
Note this kit used a ready formed (moulded) plastic fuselage top and canopy. No parts or formers for this are shown.
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Update 16/05/2017: Added supplement file showing some formers, thanks to jmdauge.
Quote: "Howdy, y'all; Attached... Formers appear to be complete, but there are no wing rib patterns. Second file is the patterns for the wing fairings, wing tips, instrument panels, and panel covers, and the spec sheet for the full-size Chipmunk. This plan was apparently a twofer from HoB; on the backside was the plan for the 1/2A Bonanza, which is already on Outerzone. jmdauge "
Update 05/04/2019: Added hand-traced parts file (7 pages) and full kit instructions, thanks to FRC.
Quote: "Good Day, I'm submitting to you the complete builders' package for the House of Balsa 1/12 Chipmunk. I've included a good resolution scan of the plans, instructions, scale 3-view sheet, cockpit instrument panel sheet which also contains the wing fairings, and I've traced out the ribs and formers on 8-1/2 x 11 letter size sheets. Lastly, I've enclosed a photo of the complete kit contents to give people an idea of the parts count for this little plane. For the canopy and plastic wheel pants, I've sent those from my kit to Parkflyer Plastics in the US to make available to folks. I've already received the copies back and they look great. Regards, FRC"
Extra sheets showing formers for fairings, wingtips, instrument panels, and specs (3 view).
Kit instructions, 12 pages complete.
Parts file (7 pages).
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
