About this Plan

Veedoo. Radio control sport model.

Quote: "Vy did Veedoo it? Too lazy or stingy to build a fin and rudder? Perhaps. But also to gain the benefits of a simpler and cleaner tail group as witnessed by the performance leadership of the Beech Bonanza and several highly successful sailplanes.

Basically the airplane is a 1/20 size single place dream ship - which explains why it looks like an airplane! This has just recently revealed a fresh possibility, as a midget racer in the new category sponsored on the West Coast by Jerry Nelson, and described in the March 1965 issue of MAN. To exploit this potential, a smooth multi linkage has been worked out to lift Veedoo out of the single channel escape-ment class, in which the ship has been for approximately 500 flights.

The only change necessary to bring the ship under these rules will be to drop off one rib space at each tip, to reduce the wing span below 54in, exactly the size of the original wing worn out last year.

One of the most satisfactory features of Veedoo is its outstanding take-off characteristics. Responsive to the slightest kick of rudder, the ship can be steered until it leaves the ground, or disappears over the horizon..."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
