TRI-6-AL Pursuit (Trivial Pursuit). Radio control (non-scale) sport model.

Quote: "Timber Reclamation Inc is one of the less well-known aircraft manufacturers which flourished, or in some cases struggled, through the late '20s and early '30s. The company started life buying up scrap aircraft and using the high quality wood for such things as hammer handles etc, while other parts found their way into various items. In 1928 the company President, Waldo P Olafski, decided to design a fighter aircraft, or "Pursuit' as the Americans called them. No record of this aircraft survives and the only indication of its performance can be guessed at by the fact that a few days after it had been completed the first batch of matchsticks appears on the company books...

Over the next two years four more aircraft were built, three of these subsequently appearing on the books as matchsticks while the fourth was a floatplane and returned as cocktail sticks. By now Waldo was obsessed with the idea of breaking into the military market and he hired a designer of air racers, one 'Taxi' Gordon. Taxi earned his name by achieving the fastest lap in an air race without actually taking off. He was disqualified. Gordon's design was a low wing monoplane with a strut braced wing...

As far as I am concerned, the TRI6 AL Pursuit has everything going for it; simple lines, a short but incredible history, colourful and ideal proportions for a model. I had planned to build the model to 1/4 scale but Alec Gee said that he thought I might have some difficulty in getting it all onto a full-size plan so I opted for 1/12th scale instead! The construction has been kept as simple as possible while maintaining scale accuracy.

The nose is a little short so keep everything at the rear light. The front has been made pretty solid with engine detail - no point in making it too light and then having to add lead. The model will take any two channel set; it will take three channels if the servos are the more modern types and there is tons of room for four channels with micro servos. I chose the PAW 149R/C for power as I know that this engine has remarkable throttling and there is no real dustbin silencer to cause problems... "
