About this Plan
Wee Oneder (Wee Wonder). Free flight sport model for Cox .010 power.
Quote: "Powered by the new .01, Wee Oneder is a hot little cabin job simple to fly and darn near impossible to break when flown over grass and weeds. She has gone over a half-mile on a half tank of fuel, so be careful!
The Cox .01, like the .02's before it, will be underestimated by people who know better. While easy to handle, and a thrilling climber, Wee Oneder is just this side of being a screamer. If you want a more sedate sport-flier and are handy with a pencil, enlarge the plans by 20 per cent.
Construction is elemental. The result of all this is a mighty fancy free flight that will please tyro and expert alike.
CONSTRUCTION: Fuselage: Cut bulkheads B and C from 1/8 sheet balsa; from 1/16 sheet bulkheads D, E and F, the bottom piece #1, top piece #2, cabin piece #3, two cabin-top pieces #4, and side-cabin pieces (two each) #9 and #10.
Join with cement #9 and #10 to make two sides, pinning them down on wax paper. When dry turn over until any damp spots on under sides also dry.
Pin down bottom piece #1 after having indicated bulkhead positions. Slant pins toward outside for easy removal later. Cement in place, bulkheads B, C and F. Use pins to steady; check vertical position with some right-angled object placed against rear face of each bulk-head. When dry, add top cabin pieces #4, forming Vee to match wing di-hedral angle. Cement piece #2 on top of bulkhead F and against back of bulk-head C, then fit and locate bulkheads D and E.
Before cementing finished sides to frame, locate 1/8 square side cabin stiffeners. Fuselage sides aft of bulk-head E are curved in at rear, and cemented.
Form landing gear from .045 music wire. Wheels are retained by placing cement on each axle end and wrapping half dozen times with thread. Cement gear to front of bulkhead B, then cement against front of gear 1/8 thick piece #8.
Prepare top nose piece #5 and bot-tom piece #6 from 1/4 in sheet, slanting front and back edges. Note how firewall is slanted to provide downthrust. Trial fit 3/32 ply firewall, having first drilled holes for 2.56 machine screw mounting bolts. Cement nuts to back of firewall. Mount engine temporarily, tighten nuts and give several coats of cement, allow-ing each to dry hard, Remove engine and cement firewall in place after 1/4 in square corner-fill pieces have been located. Two vertical pieces of the same material (side view) match the firewall slant. Forward of firewall, the thin side skin is reenforced by piece # 11 with grain vertical..."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
