Split Wing Sr Telemaster (oz9535)
About this Plan
Senior Telemaster Split Wing Mod. Drawings and instructions showing modification to the Senior Telemaster (oz5044) plan, allowing the wing to be split into 2 parts for easier transportation.
Quote: "First, the objectives. A two-piece wing, easy installation and removal, and strong as horse radish - or garlic, maybe.
Since functional lift and drag struts are a MUST with 2-piece wings that are not supported by tubes, then construction could be light and simple. And since no one in their right mind would use rubber bands on anything but sailplanes, gliders and maybe small R/C stuff, the old dowel-and-nylon bolt system would suffice. All that was required, then, was to separate the wing halves and use some sort of 'key' to align them, while being mounted with a leading edge dowel in each panel and a bolt at the trailing edge. The ailerons were moved inboard to shorten the drive horns (3/16" mild steel welding rod) and slanted forward to achieve differential up and down deflection (Clark Y type foil, y'know).
Of course there would have to be an aileron servo in each wing, with a Y to the Rx. The 6"in or so blank TE was then at the tips and was built with "washout". (No flaps on this one!). When building the fuse, the forward cabin bulkhead was replaced by a 1/4" ply with a large cutout for access to tank, batteries, etc..."
Note: this is not a complete plan to build a Telemaster. This is a modification to the existing plan.
Note: these drawings are not to scale.
Hi Mary/Steve, attached a notes on How to modify telemaster Sr in splitted wings for easy transporting. I found it enclosed on a used Telemaster plan I bought on Ebay, it seems like a letter from a modeller to another modeller, but interesting. regards Pit

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
