About this Plan

Pylon Polisher. Simple rubber profile scale pylon racer model. Scale is 1/12.

Quote: "Wave the checkered flag as this speedy high zooming model of Art Chester's Swee' Pea zips by. Art, one of the all time big money winners in air racing, is known for such planes as his Jeep and Goon in the 30's and this cute vee-tail job dubbed Swee' Pea scorched its way around the post war racing circuits in the late 40's.

This model is one inch to the foot scale with general configuration faithfully duplicating the original except for the profile fuselage and the tail surface which have been enlarged for purposes of stability.

To paraphrase the whodunnits: only the size has been changed to protect the innocent bystander. After all, the prototype weighed almost 600 pounds empty while this bit o' balsa tips the scale at 1-1/8 ounces, and that's fully loaded with two loops of rubber for fuel.

Select some medium hald 1/8 x 3in balsa for the fuselage, and trace or pin-prick the outline on it... "

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
