About this Plan

Hegi Twen. Towline glider model. Wingspan 1400mm.

Quote: "Hi Steve. Please see attached pdf of Hegi Twen FF or R/C glider. I am not clever enough to be able to reduce file size so I am hoping you might be able to improve on this... My father bought me back a kit of one of these from a business trip many years ago, my building didn't do it justice. Best Regards,"

Hi Steve and Mary, I have been buying quite a number of old catalogues now. Today the Twen came up, so I looked up the Hegi catalogue from 1978 and... bingo! So here is a scan of the Twen glider page, Outerzone planID is oz9362 [pic 003]. I am happy to be able to make the best plan site around a little better. Cheers,

I really like your site. It is both remembering good old times and the hope to start the hobby again as soon as circumstances permit. I had this plan in 1974. The fuselage was so spacey that I could put a cheap little box camera inside. Using a dethermaliser mechanism with rubber and fuse, I activated the shutter. Later I converted it. Camera out and a parachute in. This was activated by giving full elevator up. A flap opened, pulled the parachute out and the model came down softly.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
