Sky Spy. Multi-role RC model for photography, toffee bombing, glider towing and sports flying.

Quote: "I have to admit that the Sky-Spy never even got a look-in when beauty was being considered, but it is a very practical workhorse, designed for utility rather than appearance. The aim was to have a reasonable-sized airframe, light enough to carry out a number of tasks without sacrificing strength or good flying characteristics. Ken Swailes, builder of the prototypes, rates the flying as being in the Super 60 (oz522) class, but with the added bonus of ailerons.

Don't be fooled into thinking that the open structure will give a fragile model. Far from it, covered with Solartex or nylon, you will have a real toughie that is capable of taking a few knocks and can be flown from less than perfect flying sites.

Sky Spy is easily adapted for still or video camera work for glider towing (fit a release mechanism on top of the wing) or for toffee bombing by having a pannier with opening doors.

Even when not in use as camera plane, Ken and I still enjoy simply flying it as asports model, as it is modestly earobatic, smooth to fly and with the bungie undercarriage, a doddle to land. So clear the board,m get out your stock or strip, nad get building.

Fuselage. Select firm grade stock for the fuselage framework, and build two identical sides over the plan, noting the deep cu out for the underside pabnnier..."
