About this Plan

Astor. Free flight gas model. Motomodello Astor. Apertura alare 156.5mm. Motore diesel 'Giglio' da 2cc.

This plan has been annotated as "Italian Wog" and seems indeed to be a copy of the Bill Winter Wog (oz2325) design.

Update 22/06/2017: Added article pages, thanks to Pit.

Quote: "Steve, attached Astor article. It was a little mystery because in the plan it's written that the plan is attached to n. 12 1955 of 'Fare A' magazine that I have in my collection, but it wasn't so. I found it on n. 01 1956 of the same mag.

The plan is signed F.G. 1955, the capital letters for ing. Ferdinando (Ferdi) Gale, one of the oldest and important Italian modellers still alive, and curator of many scientific texts on aeromodelling, not for a beginner. The plan surely is an Italianized copy. Article divided in columns extends to several pages. Regards, Pit "

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
