Pasadena Special (oz8444)
About this Plan
Pasadena Special. Radio control sport biplane model. A 39inch wingspan biplane for .29 - .35 cu in motors and miniature R/C equipment.
Quote: "Unlike some small models, Pasadena Special is not oversensitive when the control surfaces have about the same amount of angular movement as on a normal multi model. The two-wheel undercarriage may require some getting used to, if the pilot is new to such an aircraft. For take-off, a small amount of right rudder trim should be applied until safely airborne. From a standing start, hold on up elevator and gently open the throttle. As the model gains speed, ease off the elevator so that the tail can lift. After a little more speed has been gained, up-elevator is gradually applied to lift off completely. From then on, all that must he remembered is to keep on a reasonable amount of throttle for the landing.
The model is capable of basic aerobatics plus a few not in the schedule, such as flick-rolls. Take care in the spins - with the drag of two wings the model takes longer to regain flying speed, so allow sufficient height to apply down-elevator for a moment before levelling out!
Once you get to know the flight characteristics of this little bipe, you will be all set for many hours of enjoyable flying."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
