About this Plan
Suzy Scoot. Radio control slope soarer model.
Quote: "Here's a super aerobatic slope soarer with that extra-special ingredient - flaperons. Suzy Scoot by Ken Binks.
SUZY SCOOT is not, as some might think, a development of my original Suzy Que, but a com-pletely different concept. Any similarity to a certain Phase-Two, however, is purely intentional, as this is also a pretty good design! Though, when you think about it, if two people decide to design a low aspect-ratio, racy, acrobatic model, the end-product must turn out somewhat similar. Ah! - but for the subtleties - and this where Suzy Scoot scores.
For perfect aerobatic qualities, a fully symmetrical aerofoil section is required, but oh it's performance in marginal conditions leaves more than something to be desired. So I have adopted the system of drooping the ailerons simultaneously to improve the lift coeffficient, and it works. The method used is very simple, being similar to the old elevon idea but with the flaps on the throttle function of the gear.
This is a hypersensitive model and can be quite a handful, as the elevator is very touchy, not to mention the ailerons - so it is definitely not to be recommended as a first slope soarer, no matter how experienced a power flier you may be..."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
