About this Plan

Burka Trainer. Control line profile trainer model. For 2.5cc power.

"Hello friends - We have not been able to fly, it rains, rains and rains. But there's a Spanish saying: There is no harm that for good does not come ... and I have been looking for models for OZ. This one should not be left alone in the memory of the Spanish model aircraft of the sixties. Beatles, Beach Boys, Petula, Cilla, Elvis and others helped us sanding and building them. So here it is with plan and everything."

Hi guys. The plan is not so clear for me . Which is the correct balsa size for the wing? Is it 10 mm?
Thanks,
Pablo Bonardo - 26/11/2021
I am not measuring 10 mm for the thickness of the wing for it is more like .35". The drawing is quite confusing. It looks like the wing is held on with rubber bands. The fuselage has a saddle of 1.5 mm x 25 mm wide for the wing and the wing has 1.5 mm x 5 mm cemented on top of the wing on each side of the saddle to locate the wing. Have never seen a wing held on with rubber bands on a control line model before.

Rubber band on small control line are not so uncommon. When I was a boy without car drive licence I used this method in order to pack the model on the rear of my motorcycle. Good old days...

Anyone know of or where I can get a suitable canopy for this nice looking trainer.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
