About this Plan
Pedro. Radio control slope soarer. A simple 49-1/2in span aerobatic slope model.
Quote: "...time to progress to a more thoroughly acrobatic machine - and this is where Pedro comes in.
When you are learning to perform new aerobatic manoeuvres, accidents are quite likely to occur, and if the model you demolish costs a 'bomb' and takes three months to build, then your aerobatic performance will always be inhibited. On the other hand, if the model can be built using the minimum of time and money it is not such a great disaster if it does get bent. It is to this end that Pedro was designed.
I claim no credit for truly original shape - although the fuselage does bear some family resemblance to its predecessor, Soar-Cry II, both in shape and construction. The tail shape is in the Foss style, this layout having been chosen to avoid a two-piece elevator with connecting torque rod, thereby saving a couple of hours of work. The wing construction has been thought out to save the maximum time and yet produce a very strong, light and accurate structure.
The average building time for the wing, complete with hinged ailerons, is 3 to 3-1/2 hours. It is built from 4 ft stock, in one piece, and when the basic structure is lifted from the building board all that remains to be added is the top sheeting, top capping strips, ailerons and tips..."

Stan Yeo is still designing and producing traditional kits under the name of Phoenix Model Products (UK) but Pedro is not among his current inventory. His site www.phoenixmp.com is full of down to earth advice and tips. Worth a visit. Regards,Bill Newson - 26/11/2016

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
