RS Mosquito (oz8160)
About this Plan
Mosquito. Free flight sport power model.
Hi Mary and Steve, Here is the plan for the R.S. Mosquito, a beautiful Spanish 1390 mm (55 in) span free flight pylon model. It's a very rare plan of unknown date, but probably mid forties. The only example of this model I ever saw was an old fuselage laying cornered with a completely teared off silk covering and a broken wing, all covered in dust at the club years ago. It had been there for ages and nobody knew back then whose plane it was. It was later discarded in an annual cleaning. How I wish I had kept it now! :( Unfortunately the ink has faded away badly in the area depicting the wing ribs in the original paper plan, so they are difficult to see (and the scanning process didn't help either.) ...[also included] a translated materials list. Best regards, alcalaino

This is an interesting one. With some parts of the ribs missing, I am inclined to wait a while before starting work on cleaning up this plan, just in case anyone out there has a clearer scan to work on?SteveWMD - 06/11/2016

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
