Chilton DW.1 (oz7525)
About this Plan
Chilton DW.1. Rubber scale model of the 1930 racer.
Quote: "Hi Steve - I built the Chilton with a 165cm wingspan. 60 cu.in. 4 stoke OS. Was my first attempt at a scale plane. The build is actually easy, even with the rounded deck and tapered wing. I did all the scale detailing from Internet pics. There were only 4 real aircraft ever built. I based mine on the Black racer No.29 [see more pics 003-005]. As a model the Chilton flies like a dream. No real vices, Would really recommend it as a scale build. I've never seen one as a model in South Africa. Definitely a conversation starter. I've sent you the plans I used. They are for 16in. rubber power, but I expanded and modified them to suit my requirements. Hope they help. Thanks for the AWESOME website. Regards, Bryan Moose"
Note see pages at ffscale website where this plan was originally published http://www.ffscale.co.uk/plans7.htm for more useful notes and pics. Also a dwg CAD file is available.
Note this plan is tiled for printing on A4 paper.

ScaleType: This (oz7525) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chilton_D.W.1
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.
Corrections? Use the correction form to tell us the new/better ScaleType link we should be using. Thanks.

This is my second effort at this model, I started the first a few years ago but never quite finished it. This time around I hope to see it get off the ground [pic 007]. Thanks for the work you put into the site, I've spent many pleasant hours browsing it.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
