Hello Outerzone team, here are the pictures of the Robbe Jumbo [pics 004-006]. It was finished after only three weeks of construction, and I've wanted to build the Jumbo for a long time. I've been looking for this plane since my youth. It is built exactly according to the plan. Plywood, balsa and pine strips are the building material. I bought an original nose landing gear on Ebay ... unfortunately not the 60s Enya. That's why an OS Fs 70 is now installed. The Enya is superior in terms of performance. With a Graubner nylon 12.5x6 propeller, the weight is about 4200 g ready to fly. The surface is in one piece with a 4 degree V-shape and only equipped with ailerons. The RC system is an MPX 3030 ..... . and in 35 MHZ ..... more retro is not possible ... and I'm sure it will work just as well as it used to. The finish will be like the one on the original box..Oracover Matt in Cream..Red and Schwarz..Pictures will follow when everything is finished. The construction was a lot of fun .. So folks, build something again from your early days .... less is often more.

Hi Steve and Mary, Here are the pictures of the finished Jumbo [main pic, 007-009]. The material is Oracover Cream in matt. This film has a very special look and I can recommend the retro models to everyone. With best regards,

Jean Paul, you have the plan and instructions to download, this should be enough to build your Jumbo.

I am a bit wary of the wing attachment. A span of 2 meters and a weight of 4 kg means a lot of stress on those rubber bands. Did anyone convert this to more reliable methods of fixation?

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
