Polo (oz7039)
About this Plan
Svenson Polo. Radio control trainer model. An ideal choice as a first R/C model, for engines in the 0.9 to .15 cu in class.
Quote: "POLO by SVENSON, made in Knokke Belgium. Dear Steve, here is the POLO by SVENSON; the cheapest model ever released by Svenson! Flies with 1.5 cc engine, easy to build. I've had more than 10 built. Flying with it is very nice. I hope many people build this model and share that same fun with me. Thanks, Greets"

Hi Steve and Mary, here is my red POLO by Svenson [more pics 005]. This is equipped with a 2.5 cc OS FP. This engine is quiet, by his double room exhaust. The POLO is very lightly built, covered with ORACOVER, with my old 35 Mgz Graupner transmitter. Thank you for OUTER ZONE site.JulienVermeire - 12/01/2017
Hi Mary and Steve; Here's my white POLO by Svenson, my favorite airplane [more pics 006]. Very cheap and yet the POLO can do everything as its big brothers. I have many children without a budget, let fly with my POLO. I have made a lot of kids happy with this aircraft. Nowadays no longer - with the advent of the computer, children are not outside more. But I still like to fly the POLO. Kind regards.

Hello Steve and Mary, Please find here two pictures of my scratch build Polo, build over the past years [more pics 007,008]. Now and then a little bit... I've used a tailwheel and it's electric. 2836 kv=1200, with a 8x4 prop, on a 3S 2200 mAh to 3S 3700 mAh. Ground starts are marginal with the small wheels, but a light throw out of the hand is enough. A very gentle trainer plane from way past. In a new jacket. Best regards from Belgium,

Here's some video of my scratch build Svenson Polo here, on 3s electric: https://youtu.be/be82LE2bAK4. Filmed at the The Little Wings field, Belgium.

Hi Mary; Here is my new POLO from Svenson [pics 009-011], the blue one is the POLO I am building now. I just need to finish the wing. You will also see two other POLOs, the red and the white, all three are equipped with OS engines, the red with a 2.5 cc FP of 30 years, the white with a 3.5 cc MAX of 40 years and the blue with a 2.5 cc MAX of 40 years. The POLO is the nicest kit that Svenson ever released, also easy to build and quite cheap. Unfortunately for most model builders too little, but for me a gift. The blue is painted with 40 years HUMBROL paint and still good. Kind regards,

Hallo still building with great passion for the sport. When are you trying the new one? Greetings,

Hi Mary; The wing of my new POLO is ready for cover, I'm going to coat it white [pic 012]. The large pot of HUMBROL no 43 is 40 years old and still good. The small jar of 14ml HUMBROL no 43 is 10 years old but has not been opened yet [pic013]. HUMBROL is the world's best paint! Kind regards,

The new blue POLO is test, fly very good!

Julien, I am disappointed, why no more pretty embroidered tablecloths? :-)

Hi Mary; Hereby the finished blue/white POLO [pics 014, 015], too bad it's been so windy the last few weeks. I would like to test the new POLO, but that is not possible at the moment. It was, as always, a pleasure to build that 1978 model. It is a simple construction. Fortunately I have a lot of balsa wood in stock, because this is very difficult to buy these days, and has also become very expensive. When I build a model I only have to buy ORACOVER and some small material. Life in Belgium has become so expensive in 2022 , I am very happy with small models like the POLO , and can continue to practice my hobby. Kind regards,

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
