Galloper (oz7016)
About this Plan
Galloper. Radio control sport model.
Quote: "Steve, Herewith the full-size plans for the 1963 Galloping Ghost 'Galloper' by C.R. Ralph, from the first Radio Control Manual by Henry J. Nichols. Also a later Aeromodeller article by D.S.George describing a rudder-only version of same. And a photo of my Galloping Ghost equipped version with Webra Rekord 1,5 cm3, home-made actuator and vintage Min-X Pulsemite 27MHz transmitter control.
After flying Galloper a few times and initially finding it over-elevated, I would advise prospective builders to add 1/8in positive incidence to the tailplane. I also found that the landing gear is better fastened with dowels and rubber bands than bolted on as shown on the plans. This will prevent the fuselage floor from being torn off in case of a "heavy landing" :>) Apart fom these small modifications, at 29 oz. weight the model is a good flyer as well as surprisingly fast and stable yet responsive. Best modelling regards."

Hi Steve, Great work with the Outerzone. Galloper by C.R.Ralph is on my list of models to build. I noticed that the supplementary article provided is not really anything to do with Galloper, it just happens to use Galloper as an example model and it is not even fitted with Galloping Ghost gear. I have the March 1963 RCM&E (and yes a young me bought it back in the day!) and have scanned the article on Galloper exactly as it appeared in the magazine. If you think it is appropriate you may like to add it to the Galloper listing on Outerzone [see supplementary files].Alan - 15/06/2016

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
