I had a Tarquin in the 1950s, but it never got to fly as a power model as I lost my Frog 50 in a fly away of my Frog Zephyr just before I completed it. However, I recalled it as a very pretty little model and thought it would make a nice little electric R/C park flyer. The "diamond" fuselage cross section is very small and some head scratching was required to come up with a practical installation. The final solution as can be seen in one of the photos [see more pics 003-005] involved a two part fuselage with the bottom "pan" retained by magnets with the lipo in the noseblock and ESC and Rx further back. The rudder is driven by closed loop and the one sided elevator via an external 1.5 mm carbon push rod running it alloy tube supports along one side of the crutch. Specification is: Weight 6.7/8 ounces, wing loading 6.8 oz./sq.ft. Motor BRC Hobbies 1811. Prop GWS 5 x 3 HD, battery 2S 320. Full throttle watts 21 at 2.5 amps. This set up gives a positive climb at 10-15 degrees and the very decent glide for such a small model makes it a really nice "park thermal soarer" although you cannot go TOO high, it is only small!Sundancer - 26/03/2016

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
