About this Plan

Miss America 500. RC sport/competition model. 500 sq. in wing area. For Texaco A competition. A scaled down version of the classic 1937 Frank Zaic Miss America (oz5645) design.

Quote: "Hi Steve, Here is Norm Rosenstock's 62 inch wing span Miss America designed for modern small RC. The 62 inch variant of this old timer is an excellent performer. It is a perfect compromise between the original 84 in and the 42/48 inch 1/2A models. It keeps the large planform but is more easily transported. This would be a great plane with an electric motor. Thanks again,"

Hi Steve, I noticed the plan for Norm Rosenstock's Miss America 500 did not have a picture. Here is one I took of the man himself launching his Miss America 500 at King Orange some years ago. Norm was unbeatable. Thanks for the wonderful site.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
