About this Plan

Quote: "The birth of the Equaliser really began about three months prior to the team trials, when it became evident to me that the Thunderstormer (oz9052) I was flying at the time was way becoming rather heavy (7-1/2 lb) for competition flying, espeecially in the power maneouvers such as the Top Hat. So I decided to follow the general trend towards a smaller, lighter model.
I must say at this point that I do not profess to be a brilliant designer, but I do know a good model when I've flown one. However with only a few weeks to go before the trials, I really had to get moving. I had a good idea of what I wanted to incorporate in the design, such as a tapered wing with a swept leading edge to help cure tail wagging and improve groove in rough weather. A relatively long moment arm was used for smooth elevator response..."

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
