Hi Steve, Glad to find this plan here. This was my first rc power model back in the mid 70s, flown until the OS15 was quite worn out. Dead stick landings are easy! It is an outstanding flyer. I hope to build another with your plans sometime. Regards,

Hello, here are some photos of my brand new Channy [pics 005-007]. It was the first balsa plane I build. The first photo is before it was in the air. Photo 2 en 3 are made on the classic fly in at the club. Thanks for keeping the plans available.

When the 4 vertical spars of the fuselage holding the wing attachment are covered with a carbon fiber braid for reinforcement and using an electric outrunner engine (75 g , KV 1100 RPM/V, 8x8 propeller and 3S x 2000 mAh battery, it is easy to reach a flying weight of 0.9 kg, and the flight is a pure dream.
Able to be fast in strong wind. I was able to make a flight of 1 h 10 min. When you accept shorter flights, feasible aerobatics are almost incredible for a Rudder/elevator airplane.
In my opinion, the best training aircraft ever.

Dear Steve and Mary, Here are a few pics of the Svenson Channy I recently have build with some cut parts and the original plan from 1973 [pics 008-013]. The livery is taken from the later box art, only in a different color variation. She’s powered by a 2,26 cc nitro engine from AP. : The Yellow Jacket. With his compact muffler behind the cylinder, there’s no need for a disturbing muffler on the side of the nose. Thanks for posting in advance, Kind regards,

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
