About this Plan

Jimmie Allen Silver Streak. Free flight rubber sport model.

Quote: "Hello Steve, David Mills, one of the editors of the National Free Flight Society quarterly publication, asked me if I could do a restoration job on a scan of a Jimmie Allen plan that they had been looking for and finally found. I am told this is a very rare plan. David gave me a scan that was all there but was very weak. It was too weak to restore in Photoshop as the lines and copy broke up and dropped out when you pushed the contrast. So I did it the hard way by tracing the entire plan. It was a lot of work but it came out nice and is faithful to the original. So here it is . . . . the Jimmie Allen Silver Streak!"

Hello Steve, some years ago I have built the Silver Streak 32in span for R/C with a .049 Cox engine, some time after I have changed it to electric motor, it was a big succes. So, I have built a 64in span Silver Streak too for electric R/C, it is a very nice model and flies very well and when you stop the motor the gliding is fantastic. Here you have some pics of two airplanes. You can see the big one flying in Facebook at: Aeromodelismo Retro. Best regards,

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
