Buccaneer (oz5796)
About this Plan
Buccaneer. Free flight (also RC) old timer gas model. This is a later redrawn (but we assume quite faithful) version of the original 1936 Buccaneer plan.
Quote: "W Effinger's 'The Buccaneer'. Source original plans. Wingspan 84in, wing area 1118 sq in. Drawn by David Friese. Design and structure modifications by Robert Sliff. The Midway Model Company."
Quote: "This stripwood listing is intended to present all the basic materials needed to complete the Buccaneer. That is, it is the companion to the P&W/Midway Model Co partial kit of the 1936 Original Bucaneer. As the parts in the P&W kit were cut to the Midway plan (as is offered in conjuction with the partial kit), this listing is appropriate to constructing the Buccaneer as the supplied plans show. Even though the Midway plans show an R/C version, building for free flight will require only ignoring the hinge lines in the stab and rudder..."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
