About this Plan
L'Espadon. CL team racer.
Quote: "Hi Steve, L'Espadon (The Swordfish). Control line Team racer from Prescia designed by J.Magne circa 1962; I found this plan in the collection of the late Dave Campbell. It looks like it might have been a kit, perhaps there is an Outerzone addict out there who is a Team Race historian an can enlighten us. A note on the plan advises builders to consult a series of articles in Model Reduit d'Avion starting February 1962. Regards,"

Hello, I like very much your work for history. One of the latest adds is the ESPADON CL team-racer. The designer of this plane is Jean Magne.The team Magne-Malfait(of Micron engines fame) has been french champion whith ESPADON in 1962 and 1963. The engine was french Micron racing, quite relative to Oliver Tiger. During some years it was possible to buy a kit of the Espadon made by Precisia(roger Lauron a well-known french modeller at that time).Today , in 2014, Jean Magne , born in 1932 is still a strong competitor at top level in CL speed(F2A).I hope those facts are good for history of our sport.PierreAlberola - 06/02/2014
Hi Steve. Sorry for my bad english. My Father Leocadio Iglesias make a racing team model Espadon in 1963 in association with a Roger Lauron, (just before Mr Lauron make a kit in Precisia), and they fly it, the prototype to the kit, and replique to Magne/Malfait model, in Lyon, in Bron circuit. (this club and piste to fly, not existe today… ) I have lost this model in 1990/1993, when my father dead, in france, and in search to found it. That-s the reason to this message! Thank you! ----- Salut a tous.

Here are some pictures of the Precisia Swordfish kit [more pics 003-007] that you can add to your list. Cordialement,

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
