Kamco Kadet. Radio control trainer model for .19 to .30 engines.

Quote: "Your Kamco Kadet has been designed and carefully flight tested to provide a good basic trainer and general sports model, using 3 channel radio, suitable for flying in a wide range of wind conditions. It has sufficient inherent stability to enable a recovery from an inadvertent upset to be easily achieved together with sufficient control effectiveness to maintain a safe and smooth flight pattern even in gusty conditions. The Kadet is large enough to easily accommodate all suitable commercially available radio gear and carry the extra weight of decorative painted finishes whilst still retaining its excellent low speed handling characteristics.

The large side area gives clear visibilty so that the problem of pilot disorientation during flight is minimised whilst careful design ensures that an accurate and robust model can be rapidly built. Even a complete novice should have no difficulty with the construction, whilst the more experienced Radio Control Flyer will find it a satisfying model both from the point of view of building and flying.

Whatever your model building and Radio Control flying experience, we hope that you will read this booklet in its entirety so as to minimise the risksthat are always present when any aeroplane lifts off from Mother Earth.

General Information. First study the drawings carefully. There are two major factors which are in the hands of the modeller, firstly the engine power. We recommend a 0.25 engine as the ideal, but the model is quite happy with engines in the power range 0.19 - 0.30 cu in. The engine mount supplied will accept most motors up to and including the 0.25 size. If necessary the inner sides of the mount beams will have to be trimmed back to accept motors with a wide crankcase. If a larger size motor is used, you will have to obtain a larger mount from your dealer. See if he will exchange it for you.

The second factor is the question of tailplane mounting. It is much more satisfactory to have the tailplane glued to the rear of the fuselage, but we recognise that there are circumstances when this is not practical. Our advice therefore, is that if you are flying from a rough field and using an engine up to and including a 0.25, you should mount the tailplane with dowels and elastic bands as shown. For flying from a runway or if using a motor bigger than a 0.25, we recommend that the tailplane be glued to the fuselage... "
