Mini Cruiser (oz4934)

About this Plan

Cruiser. Radio control model, a scaled-down re-design of the 1949 Cruiser (oz1180) model by Charles Hollinger. This is a modern plan, in PDFvector format.

Quote: "I hope you chaps don't mind me poking my nose in over here, or won't try to lynch me for messing with a perfectly good design. Being on something of a small model 'kick' at the moment, and always having had a soft spot for vintage types, I trawled Outerzone for something that appealed to me. Cruiser was the model chosen for abuse. Although only 28" span to begin with, I like 18" and a certain way of building (the bit that worries me about posting amongst the purists)... I designed it for the way I want to build it, while sticking fairly closely to the original shape."

Note: Posted up on RCGroups, this plan is one of a series by Peter Rake that use modern construction methods to interpret a vintage styled design, at mini-size. With 18in wingspan they suit micro-RC using a PZ brick or similar setup. Peter is OK with the plans being posted on Outerzone, and says: "The only point I would make is that they are currently untried designs. I have laser cut parts for them all and will let you know if I find anything that needs changing."

Did we get something wrong with these details about this plan (especially the datafile)? That happens sometimes. You can help us fix it.

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
