User commentsMorning Steve and Mary, I have just finished building the Soarer Major from downloaded oz plans. Attached some photos of her suspended for CG balance [model photo & more pics 003-004]. Hoping for first flights tomorrow morning, weather looking very good with 4 mph winds. I have tried looking everywhere for flight videos of the Soarer Major, but can't find any. Any Outerzone members know of any Soarer Major flight videos? Best regards,

Hi Mary just a bit of info for anyone else thinking of building a 2 meter version the root wing cord is 210 mm and the CG with the lifting tail is set at 115 from front, l originally fitted with motor but had so much fun with bungee launching, and exercise too, that l have now made up a nose for it, when launching it goes straight up and comes off hook very cleanly and flies straight out. Kind regards,

I would love to see a Soarer Major where it should be! In '66 at 13 I was given a KK SM needing repair and recovering. In my ignorance I tried running bungee launch alone and as mentioned by someone - it certainly climbed - but stalled and demolished. My goodness though, the spars and longerons were tough balsa!

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
