About this Plan

Super Doubler. Radio control sports aerobatic model. Wingspan 48 in, wing area 504 sq in.

Quote: "Hi Steve - Here is Brad Shepherd's Super Doubler from Model Builder magazine issue 10-73. There was no build article published with this plan - as explained in the text on the wing plan sheet. A photo of the finished model was published two months later, as shown."

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "It is somewhat fitting that Brad Shepherd's 'Super Doubler' should appear in this issue of MODEL BUILDER, as it was just one year ago that his 'Stephens Akro' was published, in the Nats issue. Since we needed the space for Nats coverage, and the only pictures Brad could give us were unprintable Kodachrome slides, we decided to give it to you as a partial construction article. Hopefully we'll have some black and white shots of this sharp looking, versatile aircraft to publish next month. As is typical of Brad's drawings, the plans are self-explanatory. Have fun - and let us know how yours flies. First one we hear from gets a year tacked on his subscription (or a new one)."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
