About this Plan

Pinocchio II. Free flight power biplane sport model.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hello Steve, Herewith a scan of the original plans for Pinocchio II from the French magazine MRA (Le Modèle Réduit d'Avion), issue number 120 dated February 1949. Gabriel Martin is the author of the drawing and has written on the three-view annex: 'by G.Martin, after A.Gladieux', which means that the design was inspired by an earlier model built designed by André Gladieux, the maker of the famous Micron line of engines, and explains why the name is Pinocchio II. The Aeromodeller plan already on the Outerzone as Pinocchio II (oz2410) is a copy of this original. Thanks for keeping the Outerzone plans repository, and best modelling regards."

Hello again, Herewith some pictures of my Pinocchio II [main pic, 004, 005]. It features an elevation control by varying the upper wing incidence and steering via a sub-rudder which has been found to all work very well indeed. This allows the removable tailplane arrangement and free-flight looks of the original to be retained. Construction thread here: http://www.retroplane.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4499. Best modelling regards,

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
