About this Plan

Frog Goblin. Simple rubber cabin model. Frog cat no. 643 FK.

Quote: "Here is something a little simpler to build and fly than the Delta 16. The Goblin dates from 1950 (so SAM legal), has a span of 24 inches and was sold as a 'junior duration' model. The construction could politely be described as 'sturdy', but I guess this was to help it survive the rigours of trimming in inexperienced hands."

Supplementary file notes

Printwood formers, parts for the Goblin, including all the wing ribs. This was drawn up by Bill Brown.

Hi Steve, this is my Goblin, just finished [see model pic & pics 003-005], thanks for having this page!

Please note that the wing ribs shown do not match the plan - they build up into a wing with less leading-edge sweep. I built my Goblin wing to suit the ribs, and in my view it looks better than the wing on the plan. However, it's not authentic!

The latest off the workbench is a scaled up Frog 'Goblin' for 2 cell lipo E power [pics 006]. The model is interesting in that although a beginners model and has a simple structure it is unusual in that it had 3/16" stringer rather than the more usual 1/8". Covered in my limited supply of Fibafilm (tissue looking) --- wing span is 48 inches. It is a nice gentle flyer for the early mornings.

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
