About this Plan

Keil Kraft Invader. Free flight towline glider. Wingspan 40 inch.

Update 01/06/2019: Added kit instructions, thanks to ColonelBlink.

Quote: "Where parts are to be built over the plan - ie the wings and tail - cover the plan (or that part of the plan) with thin polythene sheet to prevent cemented parts from sticking to the paper.

Fuselage: Two side frames are required for the fuselage. Build these as shown in fig.1 placing pins on either side of the wood, not through it. When the cement has hardened on the first side, build a second frame directly over it using the same retaining pins where possible..."

Dear Outzone Team, I am writing to share some of the projects I have developed based on the classic Keil Kraft Invader glider [pics 010-015]. Aviation has been my passion since I was 12 years old, when my father first introduced me to the world of balsa wood and technical drawings. Today, I run my own manufacturing and engineering business (JELL), where I combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology like Fusion 360 and laser cutting.
I have taken the original Invader design and scaled it up into three different versions:
2-meter span: A dócil and very stable electric R/C conversion.
3-meter span: A high-performance version with incredible thermal-hunting capabilities.
6-meter span: My "Giant Scale" masterpiece, which pushes the boundaries of the original aerodynamic design with impressive presence in the air [pic 015].
In all these models, I’ve maintained the structural soul of the classic "wireframe" drawings that fascinated me as a child, while adapting the spars and ribs to handle the stresses of such large scales.
Please find attached some images and videos of these models in construction and in flight. I hope you and your community enjoy seeing these classic lines reborn in such large proportions here in South America. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1GvRr369HS/

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
