Update 8/12/2023: Added article, thanks to Cesare.

Quote (google-translated from the Italian): "The model In my career as an aeromodeller I have built numerous rubber band biplanes and for years I had dreamed of building an electrically propelled RC version, but only with the advent of brushless motors which are capable of pushing large helicopters. that without the additional weight of a reducer, I was able to realize this idea with the Stampe SV4b project.

I chose to make it in 1:6 scale in order to also make it possible to build a good performance petrol engine version, powered by a 4-stroke OS .52. By bringing the design to a wingspan of 2100 mm you obtain a 1:4 scale like that of the model built on my project by R. Kraina who powered it with a Roto 20 cc petrol engine. The weight of his model is only 6.5 kg and the performances are absolutely realistic.

Both our models have a plastic and majestic flight with excellent flight characteristics. Compared to reality, the landing gear was moved forward because in the original position the model had a notable tendency to roll over upon landing. Kraina has ailerons on both wings, while I only have them on the lower wing, but they are still very effective.

The construction of the Stampe is relatively simple. The fuselage is made of 4x4 pine slat lattice, with some frames and a balsa and heat-shrink canvas covering. The upper and lower wings are similar in structure and shape and the empennages are very simple. The finishing is then entrusted to individual creativity, perhaps..."

    ScaleType: This (oz4107) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.

    If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.

    Notes:
    ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stampe-Vertongen_SV.4
    Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
    For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
