Description states that this is a pistachio scale model, but the plans are not scaled properly and print much larger than pistachio scale.Jeffrey Greene - 31/07/2026
It measures about twice as big as it should be.

It's worse than that. Although the wingspan measured 18" on the PDF plan, when I tried to print it out at 50%, it wanted 15 sheets to do it, clearly not right. The plan sheet size identified as 24.5 x 34.5. I failed to figure it out.

Hmm. Safe to say this plan is not scaled correctly. If someone can resize this to the correct wingspan and submit a better version, we'll replace it. Myself, I don't know how to do that - I'm just a bitmap hack.

At 50% full size the tiled print should only cover four sheets.

Hi Steve, Attached is Spad oz 4033 scaled to 9 inch span. I have checked it prints correctly on 4 sheets from Adobe using poster mode.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
