Bleriot XI (oz3737)
About this Plan
Bleriot Type XI Cross Channel Monoplane. Rubber scale model. Quote from instructions: - "HOW TO BUILD AN "IDEAL" BLERIOT CROSS CHANNEL TYPE XI MONOPLANE. When these directions have been properly followed in connection with the drawing, there will result an exact scale reduction model of a Bleriot Monoplane, that we guarantee to rise from the ground by its own power and give a successful flight of about 100 feet, provided "Ideal" Model Aeroplane Supplies are used. As this model is made with the same kinds of material, with the same parts and, on a small scale, in the same manner as the famous Bleriot XI, the first aeroplane to fly across the English Channel, the constructor will obtain an excellent conception of this historic machine. User commentsThere's a nice educational video showing this completed Ideal Bleriot XI model as a museum piece here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsdlm8BwaVk - it's from the Canada Aviation Museum.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
