Petrel (oz3649)
About this Plan
Petrel. Free flight towline glider.
Quote: "Here's a nice simple 33 inch span glider from 1964 designed by C.T.Buffery. I've drawn up a set of wing and talplane ribs - everything else you need is shown on the plan. The plan is presented as a single pdf which can be printed tiled to suit the paper in your printer using Acrobat reader X or newer. Alternatively you can take the file to a copy shop and they can print it on a single sheet for you. The parts sheet will print on two A4 sheets. "

Did we get something wrong with these details about this plan (especially the datafile)?

Hi Mary /Steve, my photo of a double size Frog Petrel [more pics 008]. After the normal one built from the Outerzone plan, I looked at many glider plans to build a larger r.c. glider but they all seemed to have so much wood in them. I guess at the time this was needed for larger r.c. equipment. Then it came to me to do a 2 x Petrel since it flies so well and has minimal essential structure. The larger version flies just the same.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
