Du-All (oz3352)
About this Plan
Du All (Do all). Wakefield rubber design by Gerald Zeigenfuse. 4.5 oz airframe plus 4 oz rubber.
This plan was printed in Flying Models Decade of Designs (1), published 1960.
Quote: "Designed for both Wakefield and Unlimited class rubber events, the 'Du-All' is a dual purpose model. The ship is rugged yet weighs only 4.5 ounces without the rubber motor. Motor weight depends on the event you want to compete in, 2.8oz for Wakefield, and a minimum of 4 oz, for this particular model, in the Unlimited class.
The hub and noseblock assembly on this model is the result of many years of development. The tensioner spring is never fully compressed and thus eliminates the trouble of changing the stop settings as the spring waekens from contant use. Another feature is the shaft arrangement which allows only a 1/4 in of the shaft to protrude from the nose block when tensioned. You need not worry about bent shafts, as there isn't much to bend,
Before starting construction, scale up the plans. They are 1/4 size. All the important dimensions are given and the curves have grid squares on them.
FUSELAGE: Begin, by pinning the 1/8 square longerons over your plan. Add the 1/16 by 1/8 crossbraces and the 1/8 sheet fill-ins. The second slide is built directly over the first but the crossbraces are placed opposite the ones on the first side. Tack cement two 3 x 1-3/4 in formers between the fuselage sides at the wing-dowel positions. Pull the rear ends together and cement. Now pull the front ends together and cement in the 1/8 x 1/4 front crossbraces. Next add the 1/4 squares at the leading edge of the stabilizer rest. These pieces will..."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
