About this Plan

AF Valiant. Australian CL model. Super stunt model for .19 to .35 motors.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Update 23/12/2017: Added supplement redrawn plan showing all parts, thanks to Patzpaint.

Quote: "Steve, I have made up a PDF of the parts for the AeroFlyte Valiant CL stunter. I am making one, and am a member of the Facebook group for AeroFlyte builders. I have changed the construction of the wing to use 3/8 square balsa in place of the miled one supplied in the kit. I also added all the formers, and the tail plane, and the U/C drawing. Hope you find this useful."

Hi Guys, I keep finding model designs I remember as a teenager on Outerzone and the latest one I have taken a fancy to - is the Valiant [main pic, 003-008]. I never built a Valiant in my younger years but I did make a number of Aeroflyte designs including the Thunderstreak (oz3230). Recently I acquired another Frog 500 and made the Valiant shown in the supplied photos. I was keen to decorate it as per the original but had difficulty finding old ads for this model. What I did find wasn’t all that appealing so I went with something similar and changed the colours. The model flies very well although I am currently experimenting with Venturi inserts to improve the suction. I extended the drive washer position forward by turning up a crankshaft extender to keep the front of the model closer to the plan shape. Cheerio,

My Aeroflyte Valiant is scaled to 110 percent, making it 53 inch span [pics 009, 010]. I will have a Fox 35 installed. Thanks for your wonderful plans service. Kind regards from Brisbane Australia,

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
