Husky (oz3229)
About this Plan
AF Husky. Australian control line stunt/combat model. Wingspan 26 in, for .75 - 1.5 cc engines.
Quote: "Before beginning to build your model, study the plan and the parts carefully until all stages of construction are fully understood. Use only Aero-Flyte Cements which are especially prepared for use with balsawood. C23 cement is to be used for engine mounts etc, where maximum strength is needed and C17 cement for the remainder of the model.
Step 1: Pin the bottom main spar of the wing over the plan and cement all ribs to it, then pin the leading edge, bottom trailing edge and top main spar to the ribs and cement. When dry add the top trailing edge, wing tips, gussets, centre sheeting and wing tip weight.
Step 2: Bolt your engine to the engine bearers and cement F1 to them. Slide the fuselage side over the wing and cement the engine assembly and F2, with the undercarriage already attached, into place fitting the No5 or No7 fuel tank at the same time. Now addd formers F3, F4 and F5..."

Hi Steve and Mary, Some photos of the Aeroflyte Husky [main pic, 003-006]. This Husky was built from the original Aeroflyte kit sometime in the 70’s. Fitted with a DC Sabre, it has never been flown having hung in a hobby shop in the Sydney suburb of Hornsby for fifty odd years. Of note is the treatment of the undercarriage with Aeroflyte pizza cutter wheels, spats and stitched u/c fairings - nice. The model was handed to me by my old mate Jacko, who knew the retiring shop owner, so it can be raffled at Oily Hand this year. I also took the opportunity to measure and trace the tailplane and have included a copy. All the best from,Andy - 25/05/2025

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
