Taylorcraft (oz3227)
About this Plan
Taylorcraft. Scale free flight power model.
Quote: "Here are the plans for the Miniature Aircraft Taylorcraft with a 9 feet wingspan for free flight. This model was designed for free flight. I still wonder how can anybody build a model this size for free flight. Better to install radio and stop chasing such a large model throughout the country!!! Greetings from Colombia."

ScaleType: This (oz3227) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylorcraft_B
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.
Corrections? Use the correction form to tell us the new/better ScaleType link we should be using. Thanks.

I purchased this plan years ago and used them to built a 1/4 fun scale Taylorcraft, RC- 4 channel model [more pics 004]. I used an Magnum 91 4 stroke for power and changed the undercamber airflow to clark y. I made the two main cabin bulkheads out of 1/8 plywood to house the radio and servos (as well as the firewall). The motor was mounted on its side and was fully enclosed, cooled by the scale opening, and vented out the cowl opening on the bottom. The exhaust exited out its somewhat scale location with a flexible extension. It had removable wings and the wing struts were functional. Both doors opened for wing attachment and servo hookup. The cowling was built up and sheeted with 1/16" balsa. The main cabin and both doors were also sheeted with 1/16 balsa. The plane was a pleasure to fly and the speed was slow, stable, and somewhat scale. I enjoy this website as it stimulates my building enthusiasm.DanOwen - 12/11/2015
I'm sending a picture of my 108 inch span Taylorcraft built from Miniature Aircraft plan [see more pics 003]. Built it 4 channel, added strength to it and it has a Super Tigre 90 2stroke. Weight is 10 pounds. Thank you for the plan service.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
