Tenderfoot (oz3142)
About this Plan
Tenderfoot (Half-A Tenderfoot). Free flight power model. Atwood 'Shriek' .049 engine shown.
Quote: "Here's a set of scans of the Tenderfoot, a plan by Ron St.Jean shown in Model Airplane News, Mar.'58. I had the pleasure of building this in the early 70s after enlarging the drawing by hand, and a sweet flyer it was. This was designed with the author's daughter in mind as in the pic, and I hope she has fond memories of this. The scene in the background of the photograph is lovely :)"

Here are some photos of Ron St. Jean's Tenderfoot from your plan gallery [main pic & 004, 005]. A company here in the US called Willienillies.com sells the replica Cox engine motor mount which make electric conversion simple. They also retain the character of the model. Anyone who fancies themselves a modeler needs to cover a model with checkered tissue once. In reality you are pasting 2-dimensional tissue onto a 3-dimensional object. When I finished this one my eyes were blurry! Once is enough, another might lead to insanity!Randy Wrisley - 21/04/2023

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
