About this Plan

Thermic 20 Early. Catapult launch glider, all sheet construction. Wingspan 20 in, wing area 49 sq in.

Note the Thermic 20 plan appeared in 2 forms, which we are calling Early and Late. The late version (1946) has a different fuselage profile, also different vertical tail.

This here is the early version. For the late version, see Thermic 20 Late (oz5031).

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Planfile includes detailed and illustrated build instructions, plus trimming notes.

Update 14/11/2023. Replaced this plan with a clearer version (redrawn in vector format), thanks to Tom Martin.

Steve, Since you don’t have a picture of the Jasco Thermic 20 on your site, I thought you might like to have a picture of one that I’m working on. I haven’t put a finish on it yet, but so far it weighs 26 grams.

Have split this into 2 listings now, Early and Late. See Thermic 20 Late (oz5031) for the later 1946 plan.

Hey Steve, I noticed there is not vertical stab on this "early" plan, it was originally drawn in the wing section of the plan

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
