About this Plan
Penny Rocket. Free flight power duration model. Model Aircraft October 1954.
Quote: "A neat power-duration model to build from your scrapbox. Penny Rocket, by AE Hatfull.
If you have a Balsa scrap box it might he a good idea to take a look through before commencing to build the Penny Rocket, because if you have any short (10 in approx) lengths of balsa of the section size required, this is an opportunity to use them up.
Fuselage. The fuselage is built on the 'crutch' principle using the half formers as the spacers. The lower hall is built first. Pin down the 1/4 x 1/8 in crutch sides over the position shown on the plan. Cut the motor bearers from 3/8 x 1/4 in hardwood, rub cement into them, then when dry, pin in place over the plan upside down and packed up off the plan with 1/8 in thick packing.
Bend the u/c wire to the outlines shown in front anti side views, then bind and cement firmly in position on the lower half ply former 4. The half for mers 2, 3, and the lower halves of formers 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 may be cemented in position. When they have set..."

Cute little plane.It seems that some of the article is missing. Ends by saying 'continued on p414' but no page 414.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
