About this Plan
Foxy Lady. Control line stunt model for .049 power. Designed to disassemble for easy transportation.

Have you ever been traveling about the world when suddenly you realized the air, wind and weather were just perfect for flying? You know the feeling; your hand starts to itch, your stomach starts to jump, you can smell the nitro, and your mind starts drawing circles in the air. But you must put all these things aside because there just wasn't room to carry that favorite stunt ship along. Yes, it's still hanging on the wall or in the attic collecting dust, and all you can do is dream again. Well now, there is an answer. A completely compact .049 stunt ship that disassembles to go with you. Whether you are in the Army, Navy, Air Force, going to school, or whatever, you can take your 'Foxy Lady' with you.
I just love to fly controline aerobatics, but this past couple of years I have been away from my home and don't really have the room to carry a major stunt ship. Sometimes I would just sit and dream of having the handle in my hand again, watching several perfectly round loops, eights, and clovers. I missed the smell of the fuel, the crowd, the many questions, the total excitement of an acrobatic pilot. I tried building some small rubber powered planes but they just didn't pacify my need to feel the handle again. These were my thoughts as my Foxy Lady began to take shape. The plane was going to have to be small, light, maneuverable, yet disassemble for easy shipping. After figuring the stress areas, I came up with a quick little stunt plane able to do all of the horizontal and overhead maneuvers of the stunt pattern. It has taken me some time to get used to the shorter lines and quick response of a .049 stunt ship but the line tension is good and she turns on a dime. Needless to say, she is a great little plane and goes anywhere.
As far as building, I must first point out this is a stunt ship and must be built as such. Only the highest grade and lightest balsa should be used (except where noted ). Also, straightness is a must. Because of the center section, the wing is the trickiest. Don't choke when you look at the plans. Just build it slowly as follows: Read all the instructions before gluing or cutting anything!
Start by finding a good, flat building board. Then cut your tack board in half and prop one end up 1/4 of an inch. Secure the building surface in this position. The wing is tapered from the top and bottom and is built without a jig so the building surface must be propped up..."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
