The Good News is a FF not CL
Nameless - 26/12/2012
Thanks, nameless. You may be right. The Good News may be famous as originally having been a FF model. But this plan here is clearly for CL. If you take a moment to study the plan, you can see it shows detailed CL installation, complete with hinged elevator, control rod, bellcrank and a nice picture of a control handle to fix your control lines to. It is, you might say, the very definition of a CL plan. But thanks for your input.

Hmmm… I'd still call it a FF with a CL option, since the airframe has to be modified to accept the elevator, which is clearly an afterthought ad-on to the free flight stabilizer.

Yes. Any plan that shows a bellcrank is tagged as CL. But please do feel free to source for us all another plan of this model that does not show a bellcrank.

A close look at the detail for the stab shows a contol line elevator and the inscription ' if a control line model is desired use this pattern for elevator and attach to rear of stabiliser (see A-A). Additionally, there is a note at the extreme rear fuselage stating 'for control line model cut out this section'. In this instance I'd say everyone is correct - there is sufficient information on the plan to build either a free flight or c/l model. Regards,

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
