1929 Modern Boy Aeroplane (oz2179)
About this Plan
1929 Modern Boy Aeroplane. Free flight rubber. Thin cardboard thread-braced model.
This was first published in Modern Boy magazine, Feb 1929. Reprinted here in Aeromodeller Feb 1989.
A plan by Norman Peacock is also included that sorts out some anomalies in the original 1929 version. To make your own, 90lb Watman Watercolour paper is recommended. No guarantees are given as to how it will fly.

I started building these from the 1929 Modern Boy Aeroplane plan last weekend while waiting for a snowstorm to clear [more pics 003]. Replacing the card wings with foam made the model lighter and fly more reliably. As soon as it warms up outside, I'll find out how long they can stay up for.DougRobertson - 17/02/2017
A very nice scan of the February 1989 AeroModeller has just been posted to the Hippocket Plan Gallery. The full article for the subject aircraft may be extracted from that file.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
