Linnet (oz1848)
About this Plan
Linnet. Free flight gas model. Low wing sports for .75 to 1.5 cc engines. January 1954 Aeromodeller.
Quote: "Low wing models are in a definite minority on any flying field, yet just as much fun can be gleaned from a realistic low-wing sportster like the Linnet as with any of the traditionally conservative high-wing cabin designs.
This is a relatively lightweight model, with low wing loading and very good stability. It can accomodate any power unit from the .75 Mills to the Javelin which all will agree is a wide power range, and moreover, it is extremely easy to build.
Wing. Cut out 19 ribs from 1/16in and 4 from 1/8in with ammendments for the centre section. Assemble the main spar over the plan, adding 1/16 ply brace. Build the C/S first by pinning the completed spar in place on the plan together with the slotted trailing edge. Cement ribs in position, add the leading edge and gussets.
Next build the port half wing over the chain-dotted line on plan in the same manner, after pinning the spar and trailing edge over the plan. When dry, lift off and pin down starboard side..."
Update 04/07/2016: Replaced this plan with a cleaner copy (patterned background removed) this is essentially the whole plan redrawn from scratch, thanks to TonyP.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
