About this Plan

Graupner SU-26M. Radio control scale model. Wingspan 1450 mm, for electric power with geared motor.

Note sheet #2 had been physically cut apart. This is all we have. Some cropping along the top and the right hand edge.

Note sheet #3 includes build instructions (with photos) and parts list, in German. Complete.

Note supplement file sheet #4 shows build instructions (text only, no pics) in both English and French. The scan is cropped off at the bottom. This is all we have. Incomplete.

Quote: "Introduction: Our semi-scale model of the Sukhoi SU 26 M is designed to be powered by an electric motor and 14 to 18 NC cells, but can also be fitted with a glow motor of 6.5 to 11.5 cc. Please note that the model is primarily intended for electric power, and it is this version which is shown on the plan.

The Sukhoi is not a beginner's model; it calls for several years' prior experience in modelling and in flying aileron-equipped model aircraft. You will need access to an asphalt runway or a closely mown grass strip for take-off and landing.

Items required for the electric-powered version:
Power set: GRAUPNER POWER-GEAR 2:1 - Order No 6069.
Flight pack: SANYO TWIN-PACK 16N-1700 SCRC - Order No 3245.
Speed controller: GRAUPNER POWER CHIP 40 - Order No. 3295.

Items required for the high-performance electric version:
Electric motor: ULTRA 1600-5 - Order No. 1792.
Gearbox: POWER GEAR 2:1 - Order No. 1770
Propeller: GRAUPNER wood propeller - Order No. 1320.36.18.
Propeller coupling: M 10 - Order No. 1770.1
Spinner: Lightweight spinner, 60 mm - Order No. 1058
Flight pack: SANYO TWIN PACK - Order No. 3245
Speed controller: POWER CHIP 40 - Order No. 3295... "

ScaleType: This (oz17010) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.

If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.

    Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_Su-26
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
