SNCASE SE.100 (oz16994)
About this Plan
SNCASE SE.100. Free flight scale model twin fighter protorype, for rubber power. Wingspan 36 in.
Quote: "The SNCASE SE.100 was a French two-seat, twin-engined fighter that first flew in 1939. Mass production was planned to begin late in 1940 but the Fall of France prevented this.
Designed by Pierre Mercier and Jacques Lecarme at Lioré et Olivier, initially designated the LeO 50. Underpowered at first, the design was recast to use the more powerful Gnome-Rhône 14N-20 and -21 engines, and renamed the SE.100. The aircraft was of conventional all-metal construction, with a mid-wing layout. The fuselage was short, with a long nose and a very short, twin tail. The undercarriage was very unconventional, a taildragger with single main wheel at the front and one rear wheel retracting into each vertical tail. The aircraft was fitted with four Hispano-Suiza HS.404 20 mm cannon in the nose and one in the gunner's post. -- For more type history, see build notes or the Wikipedia link.
CONSTRUCTION: Be sure to cover the plan with wax paper, kitchen plastic wrap or similar material to keep the glue and balsa from sticking to the plan.
WING: The wing is constructed using the Dave Rees’ “Sliced Rib” technique. There is a great tutorial from Mike Stuart and his site: https://www.ffscale.co.uk/rees.htm Use the dimensions for the wing as noted on the plan. This method builds a strong light wing.
FUSELAGE: The fuselage is built using a “Ladder Jig” technique. There are many different types of “Ladder Jigs” and a Google search will show some of them. The tutorial I’m suggesting is by Maxfliart’s video on YouTube in his build of the Beechcraft Staggerwing Twin. He uses a foam board jig: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yUYY1dqfH8
EMPENNAGE:
HORIZONTAL STAB: The HZ stab is constructed using 3/32”SQ and sheet balsa.
VERTICAL STABS: Note there are two vertical stabs on this model. It’s also important to note that these vt stabs are the housing for the main gear of the tricycle under carriage. The gear retracts for flight so I plan to build this model for flight. Feel free to build your plane with extended gear I show the gear extnded on the side view of the fuselage. All this to say that the vertical stabs are triangular in shape and broader at the base of the stabe. Note the two vertical 1/16” spars are designed to assist with this. The outline of the vt stabs are 3 laminations of 1/32”x3/32” strips of balsa around the pattern taken from the plan. I use foam board or ¼” balsa wrapped in Teflon plumbers tape. I get my tape at the Dollar Store. This allows the laminations to be freed from the templates much easier. The outer ribs are 1/32”x1/8” strips of balsa glued to the L.E., Spar and T.E. alternating side to side from the top of the vt stab to the base. This gives a very nice full stab without adding a lot of weight to the rear of the aircraft.
Here’s an unusual twin rubber powered model. I’ve always liked the multi-tail aircrafts and this one fits the bill. Hope you enjoy this one Roger B.

Quote: "Steve and Mary, Roger B. requested this plan back a few weeks ago and I finally was able to get to it. Request was on the post of the Dassault MD-312 Flamant (oz16696).
So here she is as best as I could find information and pictures. I like to do some research before I build and compare my drawings to pictures.
Thanks again Steve and Mary for you fabulous site. There are still pages I'm learning to view!!
Regards,
Tom Akery/Sky9pilot"

ScaleType: This (oz16994) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNCASE_SE.100
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.

Thanks, one more of my old flames. Thank you very much Mr Akery!Robert Schlickewitz - 11/09/2026
Thanks Tom. I always like your subjects that are off the beaten path. This is another model I would like to build (which is growing daily). When I don't know. SO many models, so little time.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
